Mind Changing Or Not?

lim peh ka li kong

When lim peh was still young, enjoying the best time of my life as a student, one of my teachers shared this very interesting story with our class. Like to share with you and do think about your decision before continue reading at each situation.

Assuming there is a hit and run car-accident, Driver and Victim. The Driver after knocking the Victim down, drives away and you are the only witness, will you step forward and report to the authority about the Driver's car-plate numbers?

Yes! Of course you will report to the authority without thinking twice cos you are a good honest upright person.

Let us assume further that the Driver is your friend?

How? To report or not to report?

You probably will look into the Victim's situation: if he is seriously wounded or not?

If he is not too seriously injured, No.

If he is injured quite seriously, Yes.

How about if the Victim is quite seriously injured BUT the Driver is your own sibling or is your father/mother? Will you report the accident?

Please bear in mind that you may land your sibling or parent in jail and the Victim is only a stranger to you.

Yes?

NO?

What if the hospital later announces that the accident is a fatal one the the Victim did not survive?

Will you report now? Conscience versus Family!?!?!?!

What if it was the Victim's fault cos he dashed out the road without thinking twice of the on-coming car?

As the situation unfolds itself, I tend to be fickle-minded deciding whether to report or not.

Tsk, tsk, tsk, human nature or is it just me to be in this dilemma of perplexing mind-swinging stage like a yo-yo?

How about you?

    Caught in dilemma...

    Thinking...

If the driver is my parents or slibling, I think I won't report bah...

    I admit I am bad...

Bur for me, 亲情is more important than 正义感。

    I am 感性more than 理性...hehe...

imho, there was never a perfect line drawn between right & wrong. it depends on which perspective you looking from.

napoleon may be a big villain to many, but from his own (and probably his family) perspectives, he thinks he is making all the right decision & doing all the rights for good of his own people.

so decides where your perspective, i'm sure you will find decision making becomes easier.

do note, whatever decision you make, there will always be some others who will be against it.

yes? no?, i leave it to you to decide lor LOLz

    Hmm, interesting.

For a stranger, definately I'll report to the authority.

For a friend or family, I'll advice him to surrender. Anyway, I'll respect his final decision.

    Old Beng,

Ya, this is a situation abt conscience.
I juz want to point out ~~ if one feels not reporting will make one feels better, than go ahead and do wat you feel is good.
However, do you think you can shed off the responsibilities that you need to shoulder and, you can sleep well and live well for the rest of your life?

The most important thing is YOURSELF.
A wrong doing is a wrong doing and you cant escape from that.
Be brave and face it, is the last word I want to give.

    Be a better man!

perspective as in which side you standing with (i.e Victim or culprit)

you know somethinng I miss quick awhile of your blog, so I'm thinking should I or should I not leave a respond here leh, it's 26 May 07 when I read this. Delimma, why? stranger or not, family or sidling, you should "butter trade" with your condition to them then decide whether to report or not, got what I mean?
