Michael Jackson was one of my favourite artists, his Thriller album was released in 1982 when I was only 18 years old.

His songs and dance moves thrilled the whole world and yes Old Young Beng was one of them then.

And yes, I was at the National Stadium watching his concert in 1993 when he was here in Singapore.

Just to share some of his "Live" performances.





He was on stage with Britney in 2008 and gosh, I think he moves much much better than she does


Friends who know Old Beng will know that he prefers slow sentimental songs to "noisy" ones but this song by MJ is one of my favourites.

Love Is Everywhere

One of lim peh's favourite food is fruits. I usually eat 2 to 3 types of fruits a day, thanks to my cha-bo-lang for buying so many nice fruits to fill my forever-hungry-gap.

One night, after a sumptuous dinner and sitting in the hall watching television, our maid brought out some fruits for us.

While lim peh was picking up the grapes from the plate, lim peh saw this special grape.A "heart-shaped" grape!!

As lim peh did not have my camera then, lim peh only managed to take the photo with my老爷 handphone.

Usually lim peh will just put food into my big mouth without looking at it but this time somehow lim peh actually look see look see before I pop the grape into my mouth.I showed the Heart-shaped grape to my family and everyone was amused too.

lim peh 舍不得 eat the grape and wrapped it up in a piece of tissue paper.

Come to think of it, what happened to the grape after that? Must go and ask our maid later.

While doing groceries shopping with cha-bo-lang one fine weekend afternoon, lim peh saw this.

So is the Sweet Potato from Japan or from Vietnam? lim peh catch no ball.

TV Commercials Again

Recently, there's this commercial on air which we (me and my cha-bo-lang) found it rather interesting and creative.

It's none other than the Heineken's advertisement.


I, especially, like the man in light blue shirt when he started screaming when he saw the beer.

Side track a bit, lim peh always feel that to be a good husband, affection and caring, sincerity plus faithfulness are very important.

To top them all, lim peh always put in my best efforts to try to make my cha-bo-lang laugh and being a Big Joker (not to mention my comical face), I succeeded at times.

We love to eat these sliced pork which we sometimes bought from Cold Storage. We will eat it with Korean Kim-chi soup and, gosh, it tastes so good.

We were searching for the pork but it seems that Cold Storage does not have the stocks everyday.

One fine Sunday morning, me and my cha-bo-lang went to Holland Village to have breakfast (Bread and Eggs). After our happy breakfast, we went to the Cold Storage and guess what? Yeah, we saw the sliced pork.

I immediately reacted in the same manner as the Heineken man (see commercial time at 0:26) when lim peh saw the sliced pork.

For what? For the sake of making my cha-bo-lang laugh lor.

So if you, by any chance, were at the Cold Storage at that moment and saw an old uncle screaming and waving his hands in front of the pile of pork, yeah, that's lim peh.

Some readers may remember I pulled a similiar stunt 2 years ago. You may want to click here to read the stupid act again.

Childish? 三苏古? 老天真?

So?!?! I will do any stunt again to make my cha-bo-lang laugh, for her, anytime, any place.

Sister-In-Law's Wedding

My sister-in-law (cha-bo-lang's sister) got married on the 06 June 2009.

Early in the morning, the Bridegroom and his group of "Brothers" came to fetch the Bride. It was quite a spectacular scene with them marching down, blowing trumpet and wearing those colourful outfits.
As we all know, the Bridegroom will have his group of "Brothers" to help him to try to handle the Bride's group of "Sisters" before he can actually see the Bride in the House.

One of the Brothers is already married and he was the main strength to try to help the Bridegroom pass all the tests.Before they took on any obstacle tests, the Bridegroom was quite kan-chiong and did some深呼吸。。。For every test the Bridegroom and his group of Brothers took, they had to pay a price of $88 if they failed each test; If they passed the tests, they would only need to pay $28 and there were easily more than 10 tests.

The first test which made all of us laughed non-stop was that they had to dance to the MV of the Korean Wonder Girls "Nobody".



Following that, they had to finish some food - Sour, Sweet, Bitter and Spicy 酸、甜、苦、辣。

The Sisters had prepared the following 4 items: Lemon, extremely sweetened milk, hyper bitter coffee and a plate of hot chilli.Surprisingly, the Bridegroom and his Brothers passed the test with flying colours.

My Father-in-law welcomed his new son-in-law when he stepped into the house.Knowing that the Bridegroom cannot speak Mandarin well, one of the tests required him to sing a Chinese love song. He had at first chosen to sing a song by Jacky Cheung 张学友 but everyone stopped him when he told us the title of the song was 吻别 =_="""

At last, with the help of his Brothers, he managed to sing this Chinese song:
All the while, when the Bridegroom and the Brothers were trying their very best to try to pass all the tests, the Bride was waiting anxiously in her room
Finally, with all the tests over and done (with lots of money paid after each test), the Bridegroom made his way to the Bedroom to meet the Bride.
After all the tests, the Bridegroom led the Bride out of the Bedroom.

After leaving the house, all of us headed to the church. (Too lazy to upload too many photo, will just share a few more photos).

Everybody was eating after the event but the couple had to take photographs with the guests especially both are Teachers and they had invited their students to their church wedding ceremony.=====

At night, the wedding dinner was held in a hotel and the lovely couple walked swiftly into the crowdChampagne pouring ceremonyA group photo with the newly-wed couple.

太太流泪了

上个星期六是我小姨（太太的妹妹）的结婚日，细节不说，不外是早上玩新郎、接着教堂婚礼以及晚宴。

当新郎在早上来接新娘时，我太太为她母亲上香，说道：“ 妈，小芳今天结婚了。。。”

就说了这句话，太太眼眶中已溢满泪水，咽哽得说不出话。。。

身为她的丈夫，我知道太太的心情。

我的岳母去世的时候，我的小姨才十六岁，我太太向死去的母亲承诺会好好照顾妹妹。

经过了十二年，妹妹终于结婚了，太太心中怎能不舒坦？虽然她只是我的小姨，我一直都把她当成自己亲身的妹妹，甚至于溺宠她。

看着她成长、从一个小女孩到目前嫁为人妇，我们夫妇俩也了了一个心愿。

新鲜出炉的妹夫是个kan-tan （马铃薯），虽是个道地的华人却不会讲华语，平日都是以英语交谈。

我岳父的主要交谈的语言为华语，所以妹夫通常都大粒汗、细粒汗的以他那蹩脚的华语和岳父交谈。

在晚宴中，妹夫以华语在台上向岳夫说了一些话，大畧：“ 谢谢你把女儿嫁给我，你放心，我会好好爱她、照顾她。。。”（以下删繁就简几十个字。）

我想，在那么短的日子里，妹夫从不会讲华语到能够上台以华语献词，实在太了不起了。

虽然妹夫的华语献词并不十分标准，但是他的诚意、真心与真挚让许多人动容，也让查某人再次流下眼泪。

我想小姨已找到好归宿，我们夫妇俩也感到欣慰。。。


希望明年会有 niece or newphew 抱。
